#Write90 Challenge

2 friends, 1 challenge, 90 days

The impetus of this blog came from a desire to truly commit to my writing. Before this, I have made no shortage of efforts to truly commit: I set my alarm early to wake up every day to write, a procured a book of 365 writing prompts and strategically placed it in the hopes it would stick and I subscribe to blogs to motivate me. To this point in time, my work in progresses are multiple and my projects that have come to fruition are few.

So, it was time to try something new! It had to be quantifiable, I had to be held accountable and it should be a challenge, to engage my competitive drive. And so, I present to you, the reader, the 90-day writing challenge. I will write every day for the next 90 days, no excuses, no do overs, no technical manipulations, just 90 days worth of writing. To hold myself accountable, I have first and foremost, enlisted a partner in crime. My good friend and fellow aspiring published author, Tiffany, also will be partaking in the challenge. Additional accountability measures: posting to Twitter and Instagram a photo of me writing with the hashtag #write90 and writing weekly blog about my the pieces I have worked on or the challenge in general.

It will be grueling, spanning the final days of summer, multiple football weekends and other obligations. I’m sure there will be no shortage of blood, sweat and tears, but with a goal so grand as a true commitment to my passion, I’m sure it will all be worth it.

I hope you enjoy walking through this journey with me! Stay tuned!

  1. […] So, to anyone who is reading this and whose head was nodding as she read those excuses, I say this: You make time for what is important to you; There’s definitely someone out there who is interested in what you have to say; And, there are many articles out there on how to get started, just Google it. (Here are a few inspirational, and practically helpful posts to get you started by Jessica Lawlor, Yes and Yes and Becoming Minimalist. When in doubt, start with a challenge.) […]
